Trips and walks
T he House
Ship: this singular construction is located in the
street Argentinean Malvinas between The Argentina and
Avenue Frigate Sarmiento. It was built totally in 1954
in material by Luis Novelli who Rome navigated in the
ship and it built it to its likeness. This Italian
immigrant built it with marked perfection.
Fossil prints: it is a yacimento shovel-icnológico
located 2 500 m to the east of the town. The 12 000 year-old
fossil prints are printed in the platform of abrasion of
the beach, in the arcillo-oozy layers that are covered
partially for the discharges tides. They were discovered
in the month of October of 1986, after a strong storm.
The locations are particularly valuable to obtain data
about the conditions paleoambientales of the geologic
past, since they constitute a testimony in situ of the
locomotion and activities that deployed animals of the
Late Pleistoceno, among them Megaterio, Gliptodonte,
Toxodon, Macrauchenia. The sector with having raked,
that is to say, succession of 3 or more prints assigned
to oneself organism, it possesses an approximate
extension from 2 500 parallel m to the coast line. The
place has been declared from Paleontological interest to
provincial level for the Senate of the County of Buenos
Aires.
The ship aground: toward the West, when it lowers
the tide, "The Sovereign's" remains can be seen, a ship
that beached at the end of the XIX century.
The Rocks: it is located to 12 km to the west of
Pehuen-Có, it is also known with the name of "Beacon it
Mounts Beautiful" or "Ravines of Beautiful" Mount and
they have an approximate extension 3 km of cliffs of
variable height. Their importance resides in the quality
and abundance of the discoveries of vertebrates of the
series Plioceno, of an antiquity of about 5 million
years. Stands out their historical relevance because
there was the first lighthouse of the Argentinean coast
and being traveled for scientific as Florentine Ameghino
and Charles Darwin.
Fishes: one can fish in the coast or embarked.
Charmed forest: it is located to 5 km of Pehuen-Có
and it constitutes an ideal space for the rest. You
consents from the entrance round to the village,
traveling a later on on the way to 4 km. They are 105
there is forestadas with pines, eucalyptuses and
cypresses, result of the effort carried out under the
deep conviction of preserving the environment.
Chapel The Sacred Family: it is located in Av.
San Martin and Lauquen Mapu and it was designed by the
architect Beatriz Marseillán. Their construction was
made with stones brought as ballast in the cellars of a
called ship "The Sovereign" that beached in the
proximities of the spa for whim of the destination and
that it becomes visible when it lowers the tide.
The House Mill: it is a private house located in
9 of Julio between Brown and Fitz Roy. It is a building
built in form of mill of wind by the writer bahiense
Rubén Benítez, in homage to the book Don Cuisse of the
Stain.
